If you've dipped your feet into the tea river, you probably know about Dongting Biluochun, a very famous green tea made in Jiangsu Province. Did you know however that other regions across China and even Taiwan produce Biluochun-style teas as well? Yixing Biluochun is a Biluochun-style green tea produced in Yixing City, the home of Zisha teapots. Yixing is located across the huge Taihu Lake (太湖) from the Dongting mountain region where the original Biluochun green tea is produced.
This Biluochun is harvested before the Qingming festival using older tea trees located south of the main city area. It's flavour is more on the nutty side, making it markedly different from our Dongting Biluochun, which is more on the fresher, mellow side. Be warned that this tea is definitely more on the astringent side, providing a more "puckering" mouthfeel, so don't expect a easy-drinking session with this tea.

Brewing Guide
Gongfu Brewing:
- Leaf-to-water ratio: 4g/100ml
- Temperature: 85°C/185°F
- Steeping time: 30s, +15s for each subsequent steep
Western Brewing:
- Leaf-to-water ratio: 4g/400ml
- Temperature: 85°C/185°F
- Steeping time: 3m, +1m or more for each subsequent steep
Grandpa Style:
- Leaf-to-water ratio: 4g/300ml
- Temperature: 85°C/185°F
- Steeping time: 2m30s, top up to taste
